Driver Performance: Sunoco Red Cross Pennsylvania 500

Entering this weekend's race at Pocono, Denny Hamlin hasn't exactly been tearing up the field. Despite being tied for the series-lead with five victories, he has just one in the last six races. During that span, Hamlin has only two top-10 finishes and ranks as only the 12th-best driver. While the argument can be made that Hamlin peaked too soon, the argument can also be made that he still has time to get hot again in time for the Chase.

There is no better track for Hamlin to start a hot streak than Pocono. He is a four-time winner at the track, and this Sunday, he will go for a three-peat. As owner of the series' best driver rating and finishing average at the track, Hamlin is the favorite on paper. Completing the season sweep may be just the boost the No. 11 team needs to contend for the title.
