Qualifying Recap: O'Reilly Challenge

Thanks to fast laps from Matt Kenseth and David Ragan, Roush Fenway Racing has both front row starters for Saturday's Nationwide race at Texas Motor Speedway. Kenseth claimed his second pole of the season with a lap of 187.201 mph. Ragan was more than a tenth of a second off the pace, but he was still fast enough to earn a spot on the outside of the front row.

Cup regulars claimed four of the top five starting spots and seven of the top 10, but Jason Leffler managed to earn to the third starting spot. Kasey Kahne and Kevin Harvick rounded out the top five qualifiers. Both drivers have been to victory lane at Texas, but Harvick has a track record four victories.

Starting sixth will be Kyle Busch. He is the driver to watch Saturday, as he goes for four wins in a row at Texas. If he completes the four-peat, he will tie Harvick for most career wins at the 1.5-mile track. Row 4 is worth keeping an eye on as well with Brad Keselowski on the inside with Carl Edwards to his outside. Brian Vickers and Mike Bliss completed the top 10.

Fantasy owners should note that Jeff Burton is no longer driving the RCR No. 29 car in the event. Following a wreck in the first practice session, the team opted to switch to Casey Mears. Mears qualified 14th, but the loss of Burton hurts fantasy owners. Burton had never finished outside the top 10 in nine starts at Texas.

Rookies Justin Allgaier and Brendan Gaughan qualified 17th and 18th. The biggest name qualifying outside the top 20 was Joey Logano. He will start 21-st Saturday. Steve Wallace and Michael Annett, who both scored top-15 finishes at TMS in April, qualified 23rd and 26th.

Three drivers failed to qualify.
